  • A keen eye for identifying potential organizational partnership and collaboration opportunities.

What does a Business Development Manager at Ent Credit Union do?

  • Acquires, develops and maintains relationships with Workplace Partners, identifying opportunities for Ent to provide free, customized financial wellness programming and/or general financial product and service education to their employees.      

  • Develops and maintains relationships with local Chambers, EDCs and similar organizations, identifying opportunities for Ent to directly engage with the community.      

  • Schedules, coordinates and represents Ent at community and Workplace Partner events.

  • Manages, coaches and develops a team of Business Development Specialists in the Northern Colorado/Fort Collins market.

  • Measures the effectiveness and success of Ent’s local business development activities. Effectiveness measures include, but are not limited to: new member relationships formed, additional product/service engagements referred, and financial wellness and/or financial product and service workshops conducted.

Minimum formal education required for this position:

Knowledge consistent with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing or related field.

Each year of relevant work experience may be exchanged for a year in a relevant degree program or vice versa.  For example, a requirement of “Knowledge Consistent with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 2+ years’ of accounting experience” could be substituted for a High School Diploma and 6 years of relevant accounting work experience or a Master’s Degree in Accounting and 0 years of work experience.  

Minimum work experience:

3+ years’ general business development or sales experience

1+ years’ experience in a team lead or supervisory role

(Preferred) Experience in business development or sales for a credit union/financial institution is a plus

Responsibilities will include:

  • Expert knowledge of business/relationship development strategies

  • Exceptional initiative and self-motivation.

  • Excellent writing, speaking and presentation skills; ability to actively listen, evaluate, and match communication styles with a wide variety of individuals.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Strong team building, people development and management skills.

  • Knowledge of Ent products and services.

  • Willingness to regularly travel to local locations outside of the normal work location.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends to represent Ent at Workplace Partner, community and networking events.

  • Experience with/ability to use CRM software.

  • Basic Microsoft Office suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook) proficiency.

Certifications required:

  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record

Environmental, physical and psychological requirements: 

  • Office environment with frequent local travel. Must be able to work flexible hours, evenings, and weekends to attend/host SEG partner meetings, community and networking events. Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time, both in a climate controlled environment and at outdoor community engagement events. Must be able to use fingers, hands, wrists for repetitive tasks such as typing, using a mouse, handling paper, currency, or coin, and operating a telephone.   Demands for visual and auditory acuity are typical of an office environment.  Must be able to interact via email, telephone, or in person with diplomacy, tact, and courtesy with all members under varying circumstances.  Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
