Job Description:

Responsibility for the activities that relate to the company's investment in accounts receivable both from a quantity and quality standpoint.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintains responsibility for recommending, establishing, and applying the company's credit and collection policies, practices and procedures to the credit requirements of the business unit.

  • Establishing credit lines (within established authority)

  • Including D&BeRam, credit agency reports and other available information.

  • Review of financial statements

  • Customer visitations

  • Establish risk categories and alternative terms such as COD, CIA, and establish customer payment schedules

  • Approves all credit removals for business unit.

  • Administers the credit management system.

  • Responsible for reporting requirements to TKAG for the business unit.

  • Research and recommend best trade credit insurance policy for the business unit, and manage the vendor relationship.

  • Provide effective collections of accounts receivable

  • Monitor for credit worthiness on a timely basis (all orders require credit approval prior to shipment)

  • Communication frequently with other appropriate departments on a regular basis on the status of the receivables portfolio

  • Monitor and report to management on high credit risk accounts

  • Coordinate with sales department for effective collections

  • Review inventory additions to mitigate credit risk

  • Involved in dispute resolutions with customers as they impact the receivables

  • Involved with sales tax issues as they relate to customer invoices and tax audits

  • Provide interface with third party collectors when required

  • Represent the company in credit industry trade groups

  • Review, analyze and recommend bad debt write offs

  • Review and recommend any special or additional accounts receivable reserves

  • Review and consult with TKMNA Director of Credit for advice and approval on complex problems, high credit risk accounts and credit limits over own authority.
