Job Description:

Sargent Aerospace & Defense

PURPOSE & SCOPE:

The Software Engineer is responsible for support, maintenance, and development of the manufacturing centric software, computer hardware, PLC & GUI programming support, programming of robotic applications, setup and support of visual factory software and hardware.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Programming and/or implementation of manufacturing software/hardware
  • Implementing and/or improving manufacturing processes with PLC ladder logic, will train, must demonstrate ability to learn
  • Document and train users on new software applications
  • Update/create SharePoint sites/applications
  • Specifying/suggesting engineering specific hardware/software
  • Collect data from new or existing systems and create visual display to give timely production status
  • Generate capital expense request documentation
  • Ensure that commitments to both internal and external customers are met by following up on requests
  • Able to communicate issues clearly both orally and in writing. Ability to function in a team environment by establishing cooperative working relationships with peers and co-workers


JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • BS in Computer Science or related field
  • Strong in MS Office
  • Knowledge of modern office procedures and etiquette. Working knowledge of English usage, grammar, punctuation, and formatting business documents. Ability to exercise good judgement and initiative within scope of responsibilities
  • Moderately complex typing and word processing skills. Ability to follow detailed instructions. Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen


PREFERRED JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Two years of programming experience with ability to demonstrate use of best practices during in person interview
  • Experience with manufacturing processes
  • Experience with PLC Ladder Logic programming
  • Experience with robotics
  • Experience with SharePoint, C++, JavaScript, HTML5, Python, VBA (Excel) & CSS
