Glass Door Manager

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope®, a CRH company, is the leading supplier of products specified to close the building envelope. They include: custom-engineered curtain wall and window wall, architectural windows, storefront systems, doors, skylights and architectural glass.

Our architectural glass location in Chicago has an immediate, full-time, first shift opening to be part of an award-winning team in our All-Glass Entrances division.  In this position you will work with customers in the glass and glazing community to translate architectural requirements into functional configurations, provide quotes and processing of orders for glass doors.

Prerequisites: 


  • Must have a minimum of 4 years experience with an architectural glass fabricator

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Detail oriented with excellent computer and math skills

Job Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Prepare quotes or estimates based on customer requirements

  • Process orders to meet customer needs

  • Place orders for all necessary materials

  • Manage inventory and reorder materials as needed

  • Coordinate with production departments to schedule and prioritize work

  • Visit current or prospective customers to secure work and build relationships

Qualifications:


  • Must be able to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications and take-offs

  • Proficient in the use of computers and MS applications

Preferences:


  • Current or previous experience in the same or similar role within the glazing community

  • College degree or equivalent experience

  • Skilled in the use of AutoCAD or willing to take a course from an accredited institution
