Georgia-Pacific has openings for Production Operators at our new facility in Tolleson, AZ, just outside Phoenix. Production Operators oversee daily production goals, ensuring production of high-quality products at the lowest possible costs. The Production Operator will direct employee flow to work during shifts. Production Operators must have the technical ability to operate all types of full converting line and finishing equipment within company standards for waste, quality and productivity. They should understand and adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures. They will be trained to set up and operate all special functions and capabilities with minimal supervision or direction. Responsibilities also include training other employees when requested or required to do so, analyzing issues, determining and implementing solutions and providing innovative / creative solutions for opportunities and/or improvements.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Uses leadership skills to direct crews in the efficient operation of the company's production equipment
Reads and understand all information on job ticket pertaining to a specific job
Ensures that all necessary components to produce each job are present
Fully understands how to achieve print quality and register equipment to produce required quality and can achieve acceptable registration within specified M/R standards
Has complete understanding and ability to operate all line ancillary equipment
Ability to effectively set up and operate all inline equipment (i.e. gluing, Labeling, Straub Applicators etc.) as well as rotary cutter with minimal supervision
Understands tension controls and ancillary equipment
Knowledge of how to web up the line, capable of setting cylinders and plates
Has the ability to perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments
Efficiently operates in line systems with minimal supervision
Maintains facility standards in productivity, waste and quality standards
Accurately enters all codes for quantities, materials and times onto required paperwork
Performs necessary functions to operate the line with minimal supervision
Establishes and promotes an environment for learning and process improvement
Consistently looks for improvements and efficiencies to reduce waste and increase production within quality standards set
Works within all safety guidelines and procedures and ensures compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations
Maintains a clean and safe work environment and ensures the maintenance of departmental housekeeping standards
Interacts well between shifts to gain and pass along all information to facilitate a smooth transition without interruption
What You Will Need:
High School diploma or GED
2+ years' of experience operating production machinery
Availability to work any shift, holidays and overtime as needed
Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Willing and able to wear the necessary PPE
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work on your feet for prolonged periods of time
Must be able to work indoor and outdoor in cold and hot conditions
Ability to work in all positions, bending over, crouching, kneeling, standing, sitting, etc.
