Job Description:



Working independently as well as under the guidance of the Director of Pricing & Promotions, the Pricing & Promotion Analyst will use quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze data from a variety of sources and use it to derive insights into pricing strategies and market trends. He or she will interact with his or her supervisor several times a week, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and feedback.


  • Analyzes competitor pricing, market share and margins in order to gain a complete picture of effective pricing strategies
  • Uses statistical modeling methods to understand impact of various pricing strategies and their effect on revenue and margin
  • Work closely with marketing and merchandising teams to analyze return on investment (ROI) for existing promotions and optimize them to maximize sales or profitability depending on the strategy
  • Develop tools to manage and streamline analysis and other pricing processes
  • Presents findings to senior leaders, marketing teams, and merchants through weekly or monthly meetings.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies and techniques to drive sales and enhance marketing efforts.
  • Executes price changes, SKU updates and changes for new, digital, and pre-owned/ trade merchandise
  • Manage relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization; adhere consistently with all organizational policies related to our respectful workplace
  • Work collaboratively with cross functional teams and vendors within and outside of his or her function to achieve goals, simply processes, reduce costs, prevent loss, and to ensure that work is completed safely, accurately, and on time

  • 2 or more years of related experience preferred; closely related work experience maybe used as a substitute
  • Accredited Bachelor's degree with a related field such as; merchandising, marketing, business administration or related field; at least two years of additional related work experience may be considered in substitution


  • Proficient knowledge of writing formulas and creating flexible, detailed, accurate spreadsheets
  • Proficient analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient quantitative analysis, financial analysis, and sales forecasting skills
  • Proficient vendor or external partner management
  • Proficient relationship building skills, including the capacity to predict and manage behavior, build and leverage cross-functional partnerships within and outside of the organization, and leverage influential leadership
  • Ability to recognize discrepancies/errors in written/recorded data/information including the ability to initiate and respond to work errors in a professional manner, working collaboratively and cooperatively with others
  • Working presentation skills to effectively present information to an audience of varying responsibility within the company
  • Proficient ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities with promptness, efficiency and ease
  • Proficient business analysis skills, including the ability to gather, organize, and interpret large amounts of data and then make actionable, sustainable business recommendations based upon those analyses
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows-based business computers and Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project and Word
  • Expert ability to work under demanding time constraints and production goals
  • Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities in order to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities
