Job Description

The Product Designer (UI/UX) works in the XD function within the Digital Strategy team within Brand Marketing. The role will work with experience designers, engineers, content strategists and product managers to shape our brand identity, create and collaborate on a global Connected Design System, (CDS), and deliver best-in-class solutions.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop pixel perfect, optimized image assets for product and marketing use

  • Supply graphics across many different mediums: web, iOS, Android

  • Create components in an atomic design inspired system to be used across John Hancock business

  • Maintain a library a versatile components to be used for production and rapid prototyping

  • Advocate current design trends and web animation

  • Produce clear specs for development to be added to our Connected Design System (CDS)

  • Creative QA work to ensure designs and creative assets are rendered appropriately in product

  • Partner with developers to ensure design implementation is connected design system compliant, ADA compliant and on brand

  • Work closely with cross functional partners including product, engineering, research and QA

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Design, Human Factors or equivalent professional experience

  • 8 + years of Product Design experience in a product and/or marketing setting

  • Relentless curiosity and passion for creating exceptional experiences and not afraid to ask "why?"

  • Executive charisma and ability to influence at all levels of the organization

  • Experience working with Agile, multi-disciplinary, matrixed teams, across functions and geographies

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to present concepts clearly and persuasively

  • Demonstrated track record of solving difficult business challenges

  • Ability to create effective design solutions across multiple channels, platforms, and form factors

  • Command of relevant software tools and platforms (Sketch, InVision, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite)
