Job Description:

Arcadis is seeking an Environmental Engineer, Geologist or Scientist to support a remediation and restoration mining project managed out of our Highlands Ranch, CO office. You will live in Salida, CO or Gunnison, CO during the summer months to oversee field activities at a former mine site located in between Salida and Gunnison, CO. Housing and/or per diem, and a company vehicle will be provided. During non-summer months, you are welcome to stay in the Salida/Gunnison area and work remotely, reporting in to the Highlands Ranch, CO office or to temporarily relocate to the Denver metro area. The estimated need for this position is for 2-3 years.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Lead or support multi-disciplinary engineering design teams for soil and groundwater remediation projects

  • Coordinate and oversee activities for soil and groundwater remediation projects

  • Implementation, operation, maintenance, and monitoring of field pilot tests and remedial systems for various remediation technologies

  • Data compilation and analysis

  • Report preparation

  • Engineering design

The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:


  • Be self-motivated, exhibit independent thinking skills, and be able to work successfully in a team setting as well as independently

  • Experienced and comfortable with operation of mechanical tools

  • Demonstrate an ability to troubleshoot treatment system piping, pumps, and controls equipment and perform basic repair

  • Have experience in Environmental Remediation

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience working in remote or high elevation environments

  • Strong demonstration of Health and Safety capabilities

This position encompasses long hours of remote field work at high elevations for half the year during summer months, with the potential for additional field work during winter months. You may also be asked to perform office work (technical design, task management, data analysis, and report preparation) following successful completion of a field season.

Required Qualifications:


  • BS degree in Environmental Science, Geology or Engineering disciplines

  • 2 Years experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER
  • MSHA 24 Hour New Miner
