Job Description:

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a CAD Specialist to join our team in Lakeland, FL and assist various groups within our Central Florida region. Wood's Central Florida region has nearly 150 employees in offices in Lakeland, Tampa, and Orlando. Wood is routinely awarded contracts on a regional and national level for the government, commercial, industrial, transportation, water, energy, and mining sectors.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Assist engineers by preparing computer-generated working drawings that are project specific
  • Must be able to multi-task projects and drawings, and able to prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Provide technical drafting support, plot data from direction, and compile engineering data from drawings or field notes
  • Create as-built or revised designs from existing drawings as requested
  • Must be able to regularly perform arithmetic computations using specified formulas
  • Solve problems of a routine nature with ample precedent or clearly defined procedures

Skills / Qualifications

Role Requirements :
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a drafting support role
  • Demonstrated proficiency and working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D and other drafting/modeling software
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and additional software knowledge depending on the specialty

Working Environment / Physical Demands :
  • General office physical demands which can include: the ability to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, bend and walk
  • Ability to sit for sustained periods of time
  • Ability to demonstrate the manual dexterity necessary to operate a keyboard, calculator, and/or other office machines
