Overview

Snap-on is seeking an Mechanical Project Engineer to join its Power Tools Division in the Kenosha, Wisconsin Headquarters. As part of the Cordless Power Tools team, this position will play a key role in the design and development of cordless power tool products that meet the premium expectations of Snap-on customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mechanical engineering expertise in power tool designs
  • Guide procurement for component and supplier selection
  • Solve problems and be a self-starter
  • Manage projects in a mutually respectful environment
  • Understand mechanical schematics and build prototypes to validate design
  • Develop and oversee test procedures and validate test results


Qualifications

  • BSME
  • Five (5) years' product development experience
  • Demonstrated skill in the design of mechanical systems
  • Skilled in developing, testing and troubleshooting mechanical devices
  • Problem solver for technical issues
  • Knowledge of relevant engineering innovations
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Materials, i.e. steel, aluminum, plastic, etc.
    • Dynamic and static analysis of moving components
    • Dimensional tolerancing
    • Mechanical theory and practical problem solving
    • Solid model mechanical drawings
    • Performing computer simulations
