Strategic Pricing Manager

The person hired for the position of Strategic Pricing Manager is a highly analytical and research-orientated individual, responsible for identifying and analyzing opportunities to increase market share and optimize price in existing markets/product lines.  In addition to understanding the pricing of the competition, this position must also have an extensive knowledge of value base pricing strategies and models. This position will act as an advisor to the marketing managers and other business stakeholders and will ensure collaboration with new and existing customers to set pricing.

As a Strategic Pricing Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Manage centralized retail pricing for a portfolio of Software and Services offerings for the healthcare IT industry

  • Strategic analysis and recommendations regarding setting and adjusting target price levels to maximize value and increase volume.

  • Monitor competitor pricing and provide analysis of competitive pricing structures and trends

  • Collaborate with internal team to ensure pricing structures meet contracting requirements

  • Report on pricing trends, such as ASP, discount %

  • Participate in analysis of pre-promotion and post promotion pricing analysis such as estimating volume impacts due to changes in price

  • Utilize various 3M pricing and financial reporting systems to analyze price, volume and profitability data of key divisional products and customers.

  • Work with the appropriate departments to insure the data within the various 3M pricing tools is error-free and consistent with other financial reporting systems

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Three (3) years managing pricing in complex software as a service environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Experience with implementing value base pricing strategies, models and tools

  • Pricing management in a highly complex environment

  • Excellent risk assessment, financial modeling, problem solving, and analytical skills

  • Health care information technology industry experience

  • Statistical modeling using tools such as MiniTab or price optimization applications

  • Experience with SAP or other ERP applications such as Softrax

Travel: May include up to 10% travel
