Job Description:

The Utility Worker will obtain proficiency in all aspects of the container yard operations including intermodal equipment inspection, machine operation, basic computer functions and customer service

Responsibilities:


  • Properly identify customer ownership, size/type and assess damages to all intermodal equipment

  • Ability to maintain traffic patterns, parking areas & stacking areas

  • Properly utilize CY operating system to control customer equipment

  • Monitor/administer bookings

  • Monitor inventory levels

  • Interface with customers (local and at a distance)

Qualifications:


  • Base knowledge of computers (software usage, not programming)

  • Ability to use tablet

  • Mechanical inclination preferred

  • Ability to maintain attention to detail in fast-paced environment

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to sit/stand/crouch/walk/climb (steps/ladders) intermittently for entire work day

  • Ability to withstand working outdoors in elements

  • High school diploma/GED, or equivalent experience
