This inpatient medical unit provides care for adult patients with oncology, neurology, cardiac, substance withdrawal, and several other medical diagnoses.

Position description

The Patient Care Technician assists staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care which supports and complements nursing practice under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Patient Care Technician carries out delegated skills that are within those functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel.


Current active status on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry and must maintain active status.

Basic Cardiac Life Support for healthcare providers- BCLS - certificate of course completion required and must not expire within 3 months after start date. A scanned copy of the certificate of completion or transcripts, including your full name, must be attached to your profile to be considered.

We will only accept certificates of course completion from the following providers:

  • American Heart Association (Title: BLS for Healthcare Providers)

  • Red Cross (Title: CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers or BLS for Healthcare Providers)

  • Military Training Network

    Additional qualifications

    Patient care skills, knowledge of infection control and safety procedures, medical terminology, strong verbal and written communication skills. Requires independent judgment, a high level of motivation, accountability, flexibility, interest in patient care, and compassion for people.

    License or certification

    Maintain Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry and BLS/CPR certification.

    Compensation Detail

    Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $13.79 per hour.

    Straight nights, Monday through Friday. No Weekends

    Weekend schedule

    Every other holiday rotation
