Customer Service & Logistics 

Customer Service & Logistics (CS&L) is where you’ll integrate our end-to-end demand-driven supply chain. Working “from farm to shelf,” you’ll connect plants with customers to deliver best-in-class service in the most efficient way. Your goal will be to have the right products, at the right time, and with the right quantity and quality on the shelf. 

Job scope 

The Network Capacity Planner reports to the Sourcing Manager. Key objectives are to develop, maintain and enhance network storage capacity models and views to help predict and pre-empt storage capacity over utilization. Communicate network and sites’ storage capacity outlook in monthly Logistics Network Review (LNR) meetings, and to stakeholders as needed. 

This key information is carried through the Integrated Business Plan (IBP) cycle, and feeds to the Executive Supply Review (ESR). Coordinate finished goods inventory placement strategies to maximize utilization of storage space in Regional Distribution Centers (RDCs), Branches, Plant DCs & Outside Storage (OSS), while maintaining cost, operational efficiencies, & ensuring best inventory placement to meet inventory goals within the network, in support of CFR & waste reduction targets.  Communicate and collaborate new inventory placement strategies with the various functions that will be affected by changes such as Log Ops Directors, Distribution Ops Mgrs. (DOMs), Branch Mgrs. of Customer Logistics (MCLs), Fulfillment, Supply Planning Excellence (SPE), Transportation & other groups.  Extract & analyze system data and generate reports to proactively find solutions while pre-empting any impending site/network storage space capacity concerns. 

Key Responsibilities 
 


  • Provide future warehouse space capacity outlook beyond current month, factoring in known projects & influencers.

  • Provide a yearly forecast of storage space capacity utilization for warehouse locations via use of Site Inventory Model (SIM).

  • Attend, and provide slides for the LNR meeting. Slides to include information on conditioned & ambient storage capacity utilization against Latest Revised Plan (LRP) for Production.

  • Generate annual Distribution AC elements of SIM & Integrated Resource Model (IRM).

  • Identify sites in need of additional storage capacity (timing, quantity, duration, etc.) to coordinate decisions & solutions with Log Ops, SPE, Finance, Sourcing, Transportation & other teams.

  • Prepare and provide yearly inventory throughput forecasts for RDC volumes for budgeting purposes.

  • Support all strategic network design initiatives that will/can affect storage capacity by providing future capacity outlook in relation to current capacity state.

  • Perform cost analysis of any new strategic storage development opportunities.

  • Provide analysis in support of new program initiatives to reduce cost and improved service in relation to warehouse storage capacity.

  • Devise productivity initiatives that will enable both storage capacity utilization relief and cost savings.

  • Facilitate collaboration between Supply Planning, Log Ops, Transportation & others to promote consistent alignment between these CS&L teams.


 


  • BS/BA Degree required, preferably in Supply Chain or related business discipline.

  • 5 + years of experience in Supply Chain area, such as Warehousing, Customer Logistics, Transportation.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong data extraction, analysis & presentation skills

  • Working knowledge of SAP/APO & BI Reporting preferred

  • Microsoft Office – with advanced skills in Excel.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.

  • Ability to establish strong relationships with internal cross-functional partners & external providers.

  • Have a strong Drive for Results, and ability to Learn on the Fly.
