Georgia-Pacific is currently recruiting for a proactive, results-oriented Facilities/Maintenance Manager for our new facility in Tolleson, AZ, just outside Phoenix.  The Facilities Manager is responsible for planning, directing and guiding the plans and processes for the maintenance department, as well as coordinating building use, visitors and functions to keep the building maintained. The successful candidate will maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations as well as have knowledge of various mechanical and electrical measuring equipment.


 

The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to the maintenance department to ensure the maintenance team is meeting the objectives in safety, reliability, quality, cost, and customer service. This manager reports to the Operations Leader and will partner with management team members to ensure that operations run smoothly and the facility is maintained, and that space is optimally used.  The Facilities/Maintenance Manager will lead and support preventative maintenance programs and provide technical support for troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maximize process efficiencies.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:



  • Running an efficient and effective maintenance organization in support of plant operations:



    • Responsibility for establishing and administering maintenance expenses and capital work and managing against plans including explanation of variances.




    • Responsible for daily scheduling of maintenance tasks including preventative and reactive maintenance. 




    • Demonstrating strong functional knowledge of maintaining equipment used in the manufacturing process.




    • Demonstrating effective planning and execution skills focused toward plant reliability.




    • Management of maintenance space to ensure accurate inventory counts and work completion.




    • Supports preventative maintenance, sometimes on the floor to provide an extra pair of hands for tasks.  





  • Facility Management to include:



    • Coordination of visitors and corporate resources to ensure appropriate space and available resources




    • Ensuring that facility functions such as cleaning and external maintenance are taken care of through contractors or employees 







  • Planning and Directing work for 4 hourly maintenance employees including:


    • Participating in the full employee life cycle including interviewing, selection, coaching and performance management

    • Connecting employees to the overall vision and their role in achieving the vision.

    • Sets expectations of employees to include safety, compliance, quality, and business results.

    • Resolving employee issues effectively and quickly.

    • Recognize employee contribution in an appropriate manner.

    • Executing cross-training plans to develop a highly skilled team.


    • Manage schedules, ensuring consistent staffing across a 24x7 operation.

What You Will Need:



Basic Qualifications:


  • High School diploma or GED 


  • 3+ years of experience supervising employees within a manufacturing, production, industrial or military environment




  • 3+ years' experience as a Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic or related role



  • 2+ years of electrical experience

  • Experience troubleshooting servos, PLCs, AC/DC drives and motors


  • Availability to work any shift, holidays and overtime as needed




  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word (to write business correspondence), Excel (for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas) and Outlook (for internal and external correspondence)




Physical Requirements/Other Considerations:


  • Willing and able to wear the necessary PPE

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to work on your feet for prolonged periods of time

  • Must be able to work indoor and outdoor in cold and hot conditions

  • Ability to work in all positions, bending over, crouching, kneeling, standing, sitting, etc.


What Will Put You Ahead?


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience managing print & converting or packaging production operations




  • Bachelor’s degree or higher




  • Two (2) year industrial maintenance degree or higher




  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatic
