Technical Sales Representative

Looking for a change in 2020?! Do you have experience in Wood Coatings?! Come join our team, we are looking for a motivated individual to join our team. This position will manage and support existing business as well as pursue new business opportunities that align with the growth strategies of wood coatings business in the region. This position will promote, sell and secure new business. Develop full market potential of existing customer. Demonstrate products (services) and assist prospects in selection of those best suited to their needs. Familiarize established accounts with new products (services) and developments. Coordinate and assist company's technical development staff in determining customers' needs. Prepare documents such as price quotations, terms of sales, delivery dates, and service obligations. Inform company of competitive products, promotional sales, selling techniques, pricing, warranty and marketing policies. Submit periodic reports detailing activities, sales volume and expenses.

This role will be responsible to manage, schedule and meet customer needs in the most effective and efficient manner as possible. All activities must be managed within the allotted budget parameters. Primary travel in region is by company auto.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform all duties and activities in line with company safety and code of conduct standards
• Manage and grow business with existing and new customers
• Formulation of colors and minor modifications to improve product performance and runnability on finish line
• Establish positive relationship with customers through technical consultation and problem solving
• Meet company driver requirements for operation of company vehicle
• Manage daily orders and keep customers informed of changes
• Provide continual forecast of volumes and products for customer base
• Maintain and update all activities in CRM
• Monitor and report all formal customer complaints and ensure all complaints are managed to completion
• Perform product tests/trials and audits on customer finish lines
• Ensure products are tested to meet performance standards and customer expectations
• Assist customers in inventory management within prescribed lead times
• Assist and support local team as needed to meet customer needs
• Assist with support in lab with applications and problem solving
• Maintains a professional and positive attitude
• Participate in all required trainings, meetings and trades shows
• Ability to lift 50-70 lbs. occasionally.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School graduate or equivalent and minimum 5 years industrial coatings experience. Preferred experience in industrial wood coatings finish and application.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or technical degree with at least 3-5 years experience in chemistry, coatings formulation, and/or industrial wood finishing.
