Overview Energy Systems Group (ESG) is seeking a dynamic professional to join our Proposal Development team as a Proposal Development Specialist, reporting to the Senior Manager of Proposal Development Services \u2013 Federal Business Unit (FBU). The Proposal Development Specialist ensures the development, exceptional quality, and timely delivery of proposals that focus on helping the federal government use and pay less for energy.
This position requires a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Communications, or a related liberal arts field. Outstanding proofreading and editing skills are required, and the ability to organize the flow of large amounts of information from several sources so that internal and external deadlines are met is critical. This is not a marketing/sales position; rather, it focuses on the writing and editing of technical language for various functional business areas (engineering, procurement, etc.) to produce cohesive and well-written proposals and related documents. Responsibilities Reporting to the Manager of Proposal Development Services - FBU, the Proposal Development Specialist is accountable for the following responsibilities:
Outline proposal requirements and communicate with project team members.
Draft proposal development schedules that incorporate sufficient time for reviews.
Follow processes consistently for collecting/reviewing proposal components.
Design and monitor document configuration based on ESG branding standards.
Compose, integrate, and edit content for cohesiveness, clarity, applicability, conciseness, grammar, punctuation, etc.
Communicate regularly with team members to ensure completeness and timely delivery.
Maintain familiarity with federal contracting mechanisms.
B. A. degree in English, Communications, or related language arts field
High-Level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of government energy savings contracting proposals
At least two years' experience in technical or proposal writing
Experience with Qvidian proposal software and SharePoint
Outstanding writing and editing skills, including comprehensive knowledge of grammar and syntax
Ability to effectively articulate and communicate ideas and concepts to peers as well as the rest of the organization
Ability to organize the flow of large amounts of information from several individuals so that time requirements are met
Ability to demonstrate general comprehension of technical information and other functional areas' roles as related to deliverables
Effective follow-through of assigned duties
Organizational/planning skills and the ability to attend to and manage details
Ability to set and meet deadlines that support team and project goals
Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment
Maturity and professionalism to effectively handle frequent exposure to senior members at ESG
