Data and Analytics, the advanced analytical division of Equifax, offers state of the art solutions to current and emerging business challenges. The focus of the Equifax Data & Analytics organization is to harness the collective power of our vast data assets, state of the art systems, and advanced analytics to generate actionable insights for our business and customers.  Our US Information Services business is seeking a Senior Statistician to construct best in class analytical solutions and business insights for Equifax. This position will be located at our Atlanta Midtown or Alpharetta office.

Position Description 


  • Formulation of new modeling solutions to commercial clients across industries including but not limited to: banking and lending, rentals and leasing, telecommunications, transportation, manufacturing, utilities, hedge funds and other markets.

  • Utilize diverse data sources to craft best in class solutions using various modeling techniques

  • Ensure quality deliverables within timeline, working under a project plan and design

  • Create detailed documentation outlining design and technical specifications of each solution

  • Cooperate with Model Risk Management, Legal/Compliance, Data Governance teams  to identify and remediate model risks

  • Work with Technology teams to ensure accurate implementation, including audit of code

  • Perform QA analysis on solutions developed by other statisticians

  • Perform feasibility analyses to demonstrate value of different hypotheses proposed by various parties throughout the organization

  • Research new and advanced predictive modeling techniques as appropriate for a specific solution

Position Requirements:


  • Master’s degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or other related discipline

  • 5+ years’ experience with the development of risk solutions across the customer life cycle along

  • Extensive experience in predictive analytics, risk management and/or marketing for commercial lending

  • Knowledge of various sources of data such as credit bureau, customer application, marketing and/or macroeconomic data. Familiarity with commercial credit data preferred.

  • Experience building logistic and linear regression and machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions required

  • Experience with SQL, Python, R, or SAS is required; Experience with Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Google/AWS Cloud is a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with multiple departments in solving cross-departmental issue

  • Detail oriented, proactive, efficient with ability to accurately gather and analyze data

  • Ability to create new ideas for statistical solutions to customer’s business issues

  • Experience developing and implementing solutions in a highly-regulated environment preferred

  • Familiarity with Agile methodology

  • Experience with fraud analytics and solution is a plus
