Job Description:

GAF, America's largest roofing manufacturer, has an opening for a Maintenance Technician to provide general maintenance support and preventive maintenance of equipment for the Savannah Plant.

This includes the following tasks:

1. Read and follow blueprints, sketches, and instructions, lay out and plan work in an orderly manner
2. Effectively operate drill press, electrical welding equipment, grinders, pipe threading equipment, and oxygen acetylene burning, welding, and cutting equipment
3. Must be finished mechanic and use above materials, equipment, and hand tools to repair, install
4. Inspect and trouble shoot equipment for defects or malfunctions. Correct difficulties and/or report difficulties to supervisor. Keep account of parts and materials used and notify supervisor when supplies are low.
5. Direct work of other mechanics or helpers assigned to assist.
6. Partner with internal customers to identify root cause of failures.
7. Perform daily PM's and evaluate for accuracy.
8. Basic use of computer systems.
9. Other duties as assigned

Requirements
HS Diploma or GED and a minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.

Ability to work rotating shift schedules, weekends, overtime and on-call work as needed.

Must have a good attendance and is a team player.
