Dematic is looking for a Procurement Projects Lead to join our winning team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This highly visible Procurement Projects Lead role is accountable to collaborate with Procurement Regional Category Leads, Project Management, Engineering, Solutions Development, Finance, A/P, Quality and others to develop, communicate and execute world class strategies for projects that deliver the project on time, mitigate risk, ensure top line growth and drive bottom line savings. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Procurement professional to take on large spend for key customers within our growing organization, while positioning us for future success.
Primary responsibilities include:
Attend project meetings to understand project and installation schedules, risks, costs and customer expectations.
Conduct daily review of project progress and Utilize program management skills to develop and communicate supplier delivery requirements that meet the project timelines.
Own, document, communicate and gain buy-in for strategies for specific projects under management.
Perform as the main Procurement liaison between Program Management and Engineering for project related activity.
Research, select, develop and maintain adequate sources of supply to ensure the requirements of the projects are met with the optimum quality, service and cost to use.
Track On Time Delivery (OTD) for all suppliers delivering project related materials and:
Lead the development of risk analyses, assessments and mitigation plans for projects to proactively protect against supply interruptions and cost overruns.
Develop and execute plans to quickly and effectively react to unforeseen cost overruns and supply interruptions.
Conduct post-project reviews with the Project Team and develop pro-active solutions to supplier related concerns for future projects
Ability to negotiate with suppliers successfully by:
Analyzing the market and supply dynamics
Develop counterarguments, opening positions, and negotiation trading plans to prepare for multiple negotiation scenarios
Align on acceptable negotiation outcomes by engaging internal stakeholders
Comprehend and provide constructive input on legal contract documents related to business Terms & Conditions, pricing, delivery, etc.
Utilize financial acumen to develop cost models/should cost analysis and thoroughly understand key market drivers and how they affect price, availability, or supply chain logistics.
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related discipline.
Program Management experience is preferred
Preferred 5-8 years of relevant project-based Procurement experience
Strong communication and presentation skills
Operates with minimal business direction
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in procurement processes and driving business results through influence and leadership
Strong capabilities in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred experience in SAP and MS Teams.
