Dura-Line is looking for an experienced CNC/Assembly Lead Operator. 

 

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

The Couplers Lead will help oversee production of high-quality products within the department. They will also drive, support, and maintain lean manufacturing practices in order to foster a team of safe and efficient associates.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Foster team atmosphere by assisting Assembly and CNC Operators as required.

  • Responsible for onboarding/training of new Operators

  • Complete pre-shift and post-shift walk through with supervisor.

  • Assume the responsibility of the Supervisor in their absence.

  • Demonstrate understanding of SAP; and use for logging of production information.

  • Assist Supervisor in management of Schedule

  • Staging of materials as needed, using forklift

  • Understand programming and operation of CNC machine.

  • Perform basic assembly of machined parts.

  • Check/Verify parts for visual defect, as well as dimension acceptance using caliper and/or micrometers.

  • Complete all required paperwork

  • Assist associates as required.

  • Stage boxes of coupler parts for shipment

  • Operate a circular saw for machine parts.

  • Operate a torch for burning process of machine parts.

  • Conduct basic maintenance/repairs as required on machines

  • Properly identify, label/tag and report product as it is produced

  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area

  • Demonstrate and utilize basic root/cause analysis (i.e. troubleshoot problems)

  • Follow all safety requirements of this position

  • Abide by all policies and procedures in the employee handbook

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


  • High school diploma required or equivalent.

  • Minimum of two years of experience in manufacturing environment with focus on CNC/Assembly experience

  • CNC programming experience required

 

OCCUPATIONAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Excellent language skills including the ability to read, analyze and interpret technical process procedures.

  • Ability to write, present and explain reports and work instruction pertaining to all phases of the operation.

  • Strong leadership skills required.

  • Exposure to non-hazardous chemicals (michem prime-ammonia based) and hazardous chemicals (methyl ethyl keytone and video-jet chemicals.

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds with or without reasonable assistance.

  • Ability to move from one area to another by stepping over and/or bending under objects.

  • M-F, 6:00am-2:30pm (some overtime/weekend work may be required at times)
