JOB DETAILS

The Language Development Specialist, Consultant is responsible for the research, development and maintenance of standard form templates and customer contract language for specific products. While primarily responsible for a specific area (products and documents), the Language Development Specialist, Consultant is also responsible within the team to ensure consistency, quality and accuracy of language for all products. The Language Development Specialist, Consultant is responsible for managing various projects within different workstreams and will report to the Senior Manager, Language Development within the Law Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT MAY NOT BE LIMITED TO:

Manage complex projects within different workstreams with limited oversight and serve as an internal Subject Matter Expert for various Lines of Business or Products. May involve delegation of work and review of work products.

Provide guidance, coaching and training to other employees within the team.

Solve problems and provide solutions to difficult issues using detailed information gathering and analysis. Develop innovative approaches to existing problems.

Lead in the development and ongoing maintenance of standard form language for complex, high priority and high visibility initiatives, products and services, including conducting research and facilitating review with appropriate internal parties and attorneys in the Law Department.

Implement strategies to engage subject matter experts within the company for stakeholder input, and content development of standard form contract language that supports the companys overall product offerings.

Actively participate as language development stakeholder throughout projects and activities that impact customer contracts that is led by the Mandates Department, Product Development, and Benefit Intent Committee.

Meet tight timeframes within the product cycle through proactive communication, leading discussions with stakeholders to research issues, understanding/defining benefit requirements, discussing potential operational issues and solutions, clarifying benefit and coverage intent, and other relevant information as necessary to draft contract language.

Works to influence parties within and outside of the job function to improve processes and practices.

Write/edit descriptions of coverage to yield concise, complete, accurate and consistent language for standard form and nonstandard (custom) contracts.

Work collaboratively and build relationships with a broad range of internal clients.

Establish project plans, timelines and manage projects with internal and external partners as needed.

Coordinate handoff of language with Product Operations for document production.

Lead in technical IT integration of customer contract documents with Product Operations and Tools & Technology.

JOB REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Specific qualifications include:

Bachelors degree.

Demonstrated technical writing and editing experience.
*

Demonstrated leadership skills within a team environment
*

A minimum of three to five years of health plan industry experience is strongly preferred.
