Job Description:

The Senior Chief Engineer is responsible for a wide variety of tasks. This person is charged with effective daily leadership and administration of the engineering team with the objectives of safely and effectively operating machinery and systems and quickly and professionally responding to the needs of the Associates and the Management Team. The Senior Chief Engineer is responsible for protecting and improving the value of the Clients asset and ensuring that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life. Additionally, the Senior Chief Engineer is expected to have an intimate knowledge of codes, laws and regulations pertaining to the operation of the facility and be able to implement and supervise activities regarding the reduction of liability to the Client, and company. The Senior Chief Engineer should be familiar with and abide by the Firm s policies and procedures. Specifically, the Senior Chief Engineer is responsible for the following areas.Organize and manage all administrative functions related to the 24 x 7 engineering department. This includes but is not limited to:
Budgeting and financial control
Compliance with all applicable national and local codes and regulations
Team training which includes the administration and coordination of a comprehensive training program in accordance with the Firm s technical training and advancement initiative.
Team productivity monitoring
Upward reporting on budgets, energy accounting, and productivity
Review of client buildout plans, pre-occupancy inspections
Construction coordination including contractor management and review
Effective communication skills (both written and oral) to ensure that all communications with the Management Team, vendors, team members, and the client are of the highest quality and reflect positively on the company.

Fully implement all standard operating systems and practices, including the following:
Implementation of the Preventive Maintenance System
Maintain team standards for uniforms and appearance
Establish training goals for each team member
Implement and follow the company s engineering policies and systems

Develop a complete personal knowledge of all building machinery, equipment, and systems such that:
Machine life is maximized
Design intent is matched or exceeded
System operation alternatives and contingency plans are devised in the event that failures occur
Client satisfaction with system performance is consistently high
Consistently perform job duties in a manner that allows the facility or properties that this individual is responsible for to pass (at minimum) the company s Operational Compliance Program.

Recognize the authority and objectives of the Client. Conduct all activities in a businesslike, competent, and professional manner. This includes:
Interacting with contractors, vendors, and consultants in an unbiased, objective, and ethical manner.
Complying with all policies and procedures established for the client.
Identifying key industry resources which can aid the operation or contribute to enhancements.
Treating all fellow employees, industry contacts, and property visitors fairly, impartially, and in a non-discriminatory fashion.

Qualifications
Associate Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent work experience
7+ years facility engineering related work experience, including customer service, leadership and supervisory experience
Managerial experience required.
Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance processes.
Understands aspects of construction planning and execution.
Exposure to HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical systems, welding, and electrical systems engineering and operation.
Other abilities
Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office and CMMS systems
Demonstrated verbal/written communication skills
Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service
Must be able to frequently work at heights, work in changing environmental temperature extremes, lift, move and/or carry heavy (up to 70 pounds) objects safely.
The individual is responsible for site safety, including the issuance, inventory and compliance control of Personal Protective Equipment, consistent with OSHA regulations and company s Team Safety Policies.
