Brief Job Description:

The Lead, Learning & Development creates and delivers training programs across the Frederick Manufacturing Center (FMC) based on current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) needs and complies with corporate Quality System (QS)
standards while achieving desired compliance targets.

Job Responsibilities

(70% effort) In this role you will:
  • Consult with multiple technical and non-technical client groups to understand educational needs; create, manage, implement and measure the effectiveness of your training strategies.
  • Utilize active learning methodologies (learn by doing, learn by teaching) and avoid passive learning solutions (instructor-led, reading, eLearning).
  • Drive the evolution of educational solutions to incorporate the latest innovative approaches (augmented reality, gamification, mobility, etc.) to create a learning pull instead of a push.
  • Support and scale a learning culture by creating educators out of technical and non-technical subject matter experts.
  • Translate your efforts into ROI; cost avoidance, cost savings and/or improvements in human performance.

(20% effort) In this role you will:
  • Utilize your full administrator privileges in the Learning Management System to create and control curricula; minimizing training burden and enabling a steady-state of training compliance.
  • Support the pre-boarding, on-boarding and accelerated time-to-productivity for new employees through induction facilitation and continuing education.

(10% effort) In this role you will:
  • Identify, address and mitigate training compliance risks through the management of quality records.
  • Defend the Training Program and Learning Management System to any global regulatory authority.

Who are you?

You've worked in a highly regulated industry and understand that the documentation of education, training and experience is paramount. You are fluent in adult learning methodologies and monitor best practices in immersive, experiential education. You thrive in a fluid, dynamic work environment and are very comfortable making decisions and being accountable when information is ambiguous and incomplete. You are a stakeholder management expert with the ability to influence indirectly, across and up to meet aggressive timelines. When faced with a challenge, you instinctively research, leverage, collaborate on and share the solution.

Must Have:

* Knowledge of cGxP industry practices and compliance requirements

* Learning management system experience

* Demonstrated project management skills and experience

* Demonstrated team and collaboration skills

* Will manage program and project sub-teams

One or more of the following:

* Instructional Design experience

* Evidence of external vendor management

* Working knowledge of Sigma-LEAN methodologies

* Evidence of building global, cross-functional relationships and partnerships

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

BA/BS degree required with 7 + years experience and a healthy portfolio of deliverables and accomplishments


Masters degree preferred
