Job Summary
As the Manufacturing Engineer you will support New Product Development and lead product launches the following value streams: Research & Analytics, Health & Safety, Energy & Comfort , and Critical Environments.
You will provide floor support for assigned value streams. Typical responsibilities may include plant layout, production methods and standards, costs and quality controls, and continuous improvement projects. Duties and responsibilities are entry-level and low in complexity.

Job Responsibilities

  • Interface with ERP System (SAP) to prepare new and revise existing manufacturing documents, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM) used to manufacture and test instruments.
  • Solve day to day manufacturing problems, implement Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and incorporate suggestions to improve manufacturing workflow.
  • Investigate and resolve supplier quality problems and customer complaints.
  • Respond to corrective actions and feedback that relates to the production floor to solve customer needs.
  • Participate in structured problem solving (8-D) teams and Kaizen events in assigned area.
  • With supervision, perform analysis on data sets.
  • Train manufacturing staff on changes to manufacturing processes in assigned area.
  • Participate on cross-functional project teams that require coordinating with staff from engineering, quality, production control, inventory, and purchasing.
  • May be assigned an element of a project or well defined tasks.
  • Become familiar with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methods.
  • Use established policies and procedures to complete work assignments.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to supervisor or safety committee member.
  • Complete other assignments as requested.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, industrial) or related discipline

  • 0 to 3 years manufacturing engineering experience

Knowledge of:
  • Manufacturing systems, manufacturing engineering concepts and procedures
  • Engineering design software (Pro-Engineer preferred)
  • Design, testing and troubleshooting techniques
