Social Media Manager

The Social Media Manager is responsible for Tanium’s social media and webinar platforms and leveraging these owned media platforms to accelerate brand relevance, drive demand, implement programs regionally and drive competitive intensity. The Social Media Manager also plays a key role in representing the Tanium culture and employee advocacy.

The ideal location for this position is our Addison, TX regional office, Emeryville, CA headquarters, or remote.

 

What you’ll do:


  • Manage Tanium’s branded social media channels, including LinkedIn, Twitter and the Tanium blog, creating a consistent narrative that includes original and curated content, aligns to marketing campaigns and covers key Tanium messages, announcements, events and milestones
  • Work cross-functionally throughout the Tanium marketing organization, including demand generation, PR, internal communications, field marketing, HR and customer success
  • Develop a social media strategy that is process-driven, consistent, methodical and measurable
  • Own social media-based demand generation (organic and paid), social media KPI and conversion metrics and enabling social selling techniques
  • Manage social media localization efforts, enabling regional field marketing teams
  • Use social media to support the Tanium brand and employee advocacy
  • Measure social media activities with KPIs, including web traffic, follower engagement, customer engagement and marketing pipeline

 

Who we’re looking for:


  • Someone who understands the role of social media in demand generation and account-based marketing and is:

    • Creative and detail-oriented
    • Methodical and process-focused
    • Analytical and metrics-driven
    • Excellent writer and communicator with a knack for creating compelling content for social channels

  • BA or BS in Marketing, PR, Journalism, Communication, English or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience in content marketing, editorial, demand generation and/or corporate communications with at least 2 years managing global social media on behalf of a corporate brand

    • B2B experience strongly preferred
    • Experience in enterprise cybersecurity, cloud/SaaS or other IT environments a big plus

  • Familiarity and expertise with major social media platforms and forums such as blogs, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit and Facebook with understanding of regional and cultural variations in usage
  • Familiarity with a fast-paced content “newsroom” environment, including content creation, curation and distribution using owned, earned and paid channels and using techniques such as blogs, podcasts, solution briefs and social posts
  • Able to demonstrate innovation, successfully tackling challenges in new and creative ways in often-stressful, deadline-intensive environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including demonstrated content development for web and social media (samples required)
  • Demonstrated track record of building successful relationships and trust with senior executives, particularly sales leadership and the C-suite
  • Demonstrated project management experience managing varied deliverables among many stakeholder groups in different time zones
