As an IT Business Manager working on the IT Governance team, you will be empowered to influence and drive operational excellence (harmonization of IT business operations) and stimulate continuous process improvement. A typical day will include:


  • Global IT Business Operations - Prioritize initiatives, plan solutions to achieve identifies objectives, lead and drive programs to execute the data-driven, end-to-end Takeda processes including EM&Ts planning, controlling and reporting requirements aligned IT Leadership goals (includes Enterprise Organizational Transformation)

  • Process Simplification - Influence and drive operational excellence (harmonization of IT business operations) and stimulate continuous process improvement

  • Partner Network Management – Collaborate with Business leaders to ensure and influence a productive and ongoing exchanges of information between IT Finance, IT Procurement, IT Stakeholder, EM&T and Suppliers (medium to high complexity)

  • Budget Management – Provide leadership and collaborate with Finance to the realization of analytic solutions for effective budget tracking that support Portfolio Manager and Strategy & Operations community that is timely and accurate for value added decision making.


Global IT Business Operations

  • Contribute and influence integration by maintaining legacy processes while providing insights and influence the transition to one Takeda process

  • Initialize and plan programs consisting of multiple projects and work streams, based on the identification of large-scale business problems (integration) and opportunities. Influence process improvements and strive for standardizations

  • Identify and drive the program and resource priorities that align with business objectives and execute plans that drive toward goal achievement.

  • Lead and manage team of internal employees and consultants within the department (Project managers team)

    Process Simplifications

  • Apply broad knowledge of finance, technical tools and financial systems to provide leadership to the creation and developing of financial models and analytical tools to support IT objectives, projects and business plans

  • Set and maintain global policies for program and project governance, planning, delivery and oversight.

Partner Network Management

  • Manage the overall relationship between IT and several major business areas as IT Procurement, Vendor Mgt, Governance, Portfolio, IT Finance and Suppliers. Interact with executives and managers in these areas on a regular basis to understand high-level requirements, address issues, manage expectations and review project status.

  • Develop and manage key relationships across a broad sphere of influence in a matrix organization to conduct analysis of financial and non-financial indicators in order to provide investment and

    portfolio recommendations to IT Leadership

  • Lead the support IT stakeholders with continuous training and be a ready source of information

Budget Management

  • Lead and manage direct end-to-end Finance processes and collaborate closely with other Portfolio and Business managers to develop integrated enterprise IT Portfolio, Roadmap and attendant costs and risks

  • Accountable for the integrity of key financial processes and ensure all actions follow Takeda Controller and Compliance processes

  • Collaborate with IT and business area leaders across multiple functions to identify and plan major programs and projects. 

  • Lead the maintenance of timely and accurate intake and validation of contracts / PO requests into Ariba e-contracts & P2P

  • Drive processes and manage reports and requested complex information in an accurate, effective manner – i.e. spend, open commitments, Workday FTE /Contractors

  • Communicate a cohesive and concise story around the drivers behind financial data and

    potential implications on future results

  • Ensure programs and projects are delivered in accordance with all applicable compliance requirements, e.g. JSOX, GxP.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Accounting / financial discipline is required, with more than 7 years of working experience.

  • Experience with management reporting, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting

  • More than 10 years relevant experience

  • Extensive experience partnering with business area leaders to plan and deliver programs.

  • Professional in-depth knowledge across different disciplines, knowledge of relevant business solutions and experience with implementing business solutions.

  • Business relationship management skills; ability to connect with, influence and impact management and stakeholders

  • Ability to understand complex and abstract IT and business objectives.

  • Ability to communicate ideas and data both verbally and written in a persuasive and appropriate manner.

  • Ability to utilize data collection, analysis, maintenance application and refinement methods to make fact-based decisions.

  • Ability to set priorities, align stakeholder expectations, develop and execute an associated action plan.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including Excel modeling, and experience creating presentations in PowerPoint is required

  • Ability to write, speak and lead in the English language.


  • CPA, MBA or equivalent

  • Knowledge of Pharmaceutical industry

  • Previous experience managing a team
