Job Summary

The Project Controller will support the Project Controls Manager and be responsible for managing project controls for projects. The Project Controls team is part of the Projects department and is responsible for organizing project control elements necessary for planning, implementation, and timely completion of major wind and solar construction projects. The environment is fast-paced, demanding, and has ever-changing needs and priorities that exist in the renewable energy business.   • Ensure proper cost control tracking and cost accounting for project costs are in alignment with current project definition and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Assess schedule scenarios and maintain project plans for multiple projects in various stages from development through construction.
  • Support project plan optimization and implementation, governance, and project controls best practices.
  • Develop reporting processes to report project status and valuation of work in progress as well as tracking procedures for contract deliverables for month end accruals and quarterly SOX review.
  • Maintain accurate cashflow estimates and forecasts for Treasury to manage corporate liquidity and debt.
  • Support project managers with progress reporting including schedule updates, estimate at completion, variance identification and opportunities for improvement/risk mitigation.
  • Monitor and advise project managers on compliance in respect of the project contractual obligations.
  • Ensure that all scope changes are approved and properly accrued in the accounting system as appropriate per company policy and requested by project managers and other appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor and analyze project expenditures and availability control (AC) levels in SAP to ensure sufficient funds are available for multi-year commitments/POs.
  • Manage project and group documents within SharePoint/project folders.
  • Inform management of deviations from established processes or budgets which may impact business outcomes.
  • Adhere to effective internal controls and perform other project controls duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6 years of experience with development and construction of renewable projects or in a project controls related function.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures used in renewable energy development and construction.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks over assigned projects at different stages of development and construction.
  • Pro-active, detail-oriented, results-driven, with organized work techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-function team environment.
  • Understanding of project scheduling and ability to integrate cost planning and project scheduling.
  • Experience with SAP ERP systems, specifically SAP-MM and CO preferred.
  • Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
