Job Description Summary: Community Health Center, Inc. (CHC) with offices in Connecticut, Colorado and California, is one of the country's most creative and dynamic providers of primary medical, dental, and behavioral health services, and a leader in practice-based research, health professionals training, and use of innovative technologies to advance health and healthcare. In addition, the organization has developed three wholly owned subsidiaries from the original pilot developments within the Weitzman Institute: the National Nurse Practitioner Residency and Fellowship Training Consortium (NNPRFTC), the National Institute for Medical Assistant Advancement (NIMAA), and ConferMed.
The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer's role is to strategically design and implement BI software and systems, including integration with databases and data warehouses for CHC. This includes selecting, blueprinting, gathering requirements, designing, and rolling out BI solutions to end users. The primary focus of the BI Developer will be on clinical healthcare data. The Business Intelligence Developer is also responsible for ensuring high levels of BI availability through support functions and in-depth testing.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess and cultivate long-term strategic goals for BI development in conjunction with the medical, dental, behavioral health and population health departments, managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
Design, code, test, and document all new or modified BI systems, dashboards, ETL processes and reports
Develop the database schema, metadata, reports, and report definitions
Develop graphs, charts and dashboards
Document technical specifications or requirements
Assist in the design of databases and data warehouses
Partner with Business Leadership Teams to gather and analyze user requirements and, based on findings, design functional specifications for BI front-end applications.
Produce ETL design guidelines to ensure a manageable ETL infrastructure for the BI system.
Work with applications team to ensure that data entry, retrieval, change, and delete functions meet business requirements.
Design and deliver end-user training and training materials; provide technical support as necessary.
Troubleshoot BI tools, systems, and software; performance-tune these applications as necessary.
Act as evangelist for BI benefits across the organization; promote BI usage to relevant departments.
Investigate and make recommendations on BI products, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
Mentor and/or provide leadership to junior members of the team.
Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science, information management systems or a related field and 5 years related work experience.
Proven experience with Business Intelligence tools SSAS, SQL, and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, and data modeling.
Proven experience with reporting tools, software, and other applications; Tableau and SQL Reporting Services experience preferred.
Considerable exposure to the operation and analysis of Microsoft SQL Server database software and standards (or equivalent enterprise database), as well as data retrieval methodologies.
Experience with healthcare data required.
