The Sales Systems Development Manager will be responsible for the management, design and delivery of business systems solutions for the company with a primary focus on managing the company's sales reporting and software development life cycle. A critical element of this role includes the hands-on management, development, maintenance and alignment of transactional data and databases across multiple systems. The position has a strong emphasis on gathering reporting requirements from sales leaders, converting those requirements into system capabilities with careful attention to the design of database tables to ensure a scalable, flexible and robust reporting environment capable of growing at the pace of our business. This role places a great deal of importance on managing projects, change management, and technical support including the training of users both upstream (at the point of data entry) and downstream (at the point of data query) as system changes occur.

You will be the subject matter expert on all our transactional systems, databases and overall reporting capabilities. You will serve as the liaison between the sales organization and the company's I.T. function. Over time, you will migrate the company towards a uniform data entry and order entry process, as well as the rollout of Saleforce.com to our Sales organization.

You will be the lead data administrator monitoring monthly data exceptions within our reporting environment, and provide technical support to both the Sales and Sales Compensation teams, including the development of user-friendly reports and dashboards.

The position requires experience managing the software development lifecycle, and best suited for an individual with strong mathematical and analytical competencies, proficiencies in data extraction, data analysis and report designing/writing.

Major areas of participation, responsibility and oversight include the following:
  • Gathering reporting requirements and assessing the sales reporting needs of the enterprise by sales group and business unit
  • Design and develop backend systems to facilitate a future state; including data cleanup
  • Ensure migration of source data across multiple systems, including to Saleforce.com
  • Write reports, create dashboard with an efficient use of reporting tools available (Salesforce, JDE, SQL reporting services, OLAP cubes, etc.).
  • Performing data quality and reporting tests
  • Ensure distribution of daily, monthly and quarterly reporting to stakeholders
  • Responding to one-off or ad hoc reporting needs that are not systemized.
  • Serving as subject matter expert on sales and economic data extraction from internal systems, as well as data sources external to the company (US Census, FRED, IHS, etc.).
  • Managing the rollout of sales reporting environment changes and development of implementation plans.
