The Mueller Company is headquartered in Atlanta, GA and manufactures valves for water and gas systems, including iron gate, butterfly, tapping, check, plug, and ball valves, as well as dry-barrel and wet-barrel fire hydrants; pipe repair products, such as clamps and couplings used to repair leaks, as well as municipal castings, including manhole covers and street drain grates; and residential and commercial water meter products and systems. It also offers metering, leak detection, pipe condition assessment, and other products and services for the water infrastructure industry, as well as provides installation, replacement, and maintenance services on new and existing valves, fire hydrants, and service lines.
The Engineering Technician assumes a high level of responsibility by supporting our CNC machining operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
General CNC machine support and troubleshooting.
Optimize tooling packages and tool selection.
Track tool, insert and consumables usage.
Reduce cycle times and set-up times.
Prioritize programming assignments.
Tooling, fixture and machine problem solving.
Interface with tooling suppliers for appropriate tooling selections.
Read and edit G and M codes.
Inspect tooling results by using conventional and electronic measuring tools.
Developing and using functional gages.
Creating CAM files from tooling models for CNC programming.
Work with quality and other departments to ensure compliance to standards

Shift flexibility/willing to work off shifts
Three to five years of CNC programming experience, horizontal machining centers and vertical lathe experience preferred
Mazatrol CNC horizontal lathe programming experience a plus
Able to read and edit machine programming language
Able to read and interpret blue prints
Proficiency with CAM software/Mastercam
Proficiency with CAD software Creo/Solidworks preferred
Basic computer skills
Able to set up and run a variety of machines (5 axis experience preferred)
Problem solving skills.
Additive manufacturing experience a plus.
Associates or Bachelor Degree preferred.
