Job Description:

Summary

As an Engineering Design Drafter you would develop drawings and BOM's for flow control valves and related equipment for installation in Water & Waste Water Treatment Plants, Nuclear Power Plants, Transmission Mains and Pump Stations; all while earning a competitive base salary and full benefit offerings for a well-rounded total package for the right individual. This position reports to the onsite Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to
  • Utilizing CAD software (Acad & Solidworks) to develop customer submittal and manufacturing drawings.
  • Data entry of part numbers and assemblies attributes into MRP system.
  • Process production orders creating drawings and boms utilizing applicable design standards per customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions for assigned critical engineering tasks.
  • Application of mechanical design concepts with ability to complete mathematical calculations.
  • Processing ECR/ECN projects.
  • Manage department standardization and process improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to achieve design solutions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Support operations GEMBA & Kiezen activities.
  • Work in fast paced production team environment completing tasks by due date.
  • Support manufacturing facilities on drawing interpretation, assembly procedures, and fit-up issues.
  • Manage multiple time sensitive projects simultaneously.
  • Contact suppliers and procure quotations for evaluating product designs.


Qualifications
  • Proficient computer skills in AutoCad, Solidworks, Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of employees.
  • Knowledge of machining process related to steel and iron components.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of LEAN principles.
  • Knowledge of strength of material analysis concepts
  • Understanding of Y14.5 - GD&T


Education:
  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Associate's Degree in Mechanical Cad Design or related technical discipline with work experience.
