Wood is recruiting Qualified Rigger Journeymen for our night shift on the Catawba, SC project. NCCER or NCCCO Basic Rigger certification required. Must be available to work day or night shift.
Skills / Qualifications
Must be able to task plan, lay-out and utilize required rigging components to hoist, place and install equipment and materials.
Perform work in accordance with all applicable plans, regulations, policies, and industry standards, and in cooperation with other crafts and crews.
Qualifications and Requirements
Completion of Basic Rigger Course through NCCER, NCCCO or approved training through the Wood HSE Department
Twenty-four months of experience specifically in the craft or rigging
Read and understand plans, specifications, written directions, markings and permits
Understand lift/erection sequencing to shake out materials for hoisting and installation
Proficient in rigging evaluation and inspection
Proficient in the safe utilization of chain, synthetic, metal mesh, wire rope swings and specific rigging hardware
Understand basic load dynamics and weight estimation
Recognition of suitable anchor and load points
Basic understanding of crane operations
Qualify as a signal person through NCCER or third- party provider approved by the Wood HSE Department
Work at heights without fear
