What does this role look like?
You will be responsible for the operational management and administrative direction of executing business development goals and objectives.
Some of your main responsibilities will be:
Serve as an expert on the company's product and services portfolio.
Direct the research, collection and analysis of data regarding new and existing market segments, customers, and trends.
Establish and maintain relationships with potential clients and connect clients with appropriate sales personnel.
Oversee and participate in the preparation of bids, contract proposals and/or requests for proposals.
Coach and develop sales team members, including utilization of Salesforce and all marketing dashboards, as well as the development and recommendation of sales and marketing strategies.
Create and maintain a highly motivated sales organization.
Lead departmental strategic planning and staffing responsibilities.
Accountable for formulating and administering the department's annual operating budget as well as forecasting.
Provide leadership and direction in policy and procedure development, enhancement and implementation.
Supervise employees, including but not limited to performance management responsibilities.
Responsible for the research and analysis of new business opportunities, consistent with the organization's long range and strategic plans.
Evaluate opportunities for possible joint ventures through financial feasibility studies and market research.
Utilize market share, growth potential information on competition and economic conditions in the development of new business opportunities.
Conduct special studies for top management in areas such as operational effectiveness, capacity utilization and growth potential.
Establish relationships with potential customers as well as maintaining current customer relationships to market new service options within a defined geographical scope.
May administer multi-million, multi-year specific commercial contracts.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, transportation and logistics, marketing or related field; or a combination of post high school education and equal experience in a related field.
8 to 10 years of logistics, sales and/or marketing experience in a leadership capacity.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word.
