Help Desk Support Specialist at ALDEVRON, LLC in Fargo, North Dakota

Job Description:

The Help Desk Support Specialist supports and maintains the information systems in accordance with Aldevron’s SOP’s and industry best practices. This position provides support by email, chat, phone and in person to end-users with Apple, iOS, Windows, and SaaS applications.  The position aims to resolve operating difficulties for users and will interact with systems administrators, network administrators, software development, and business process owners to provide procedural training, restore service and/or identify and correct core problems. 

Responsibilities


  • Primary responsibility will be to provide direct end-user support to resolve problems and questions as quickly as possible while providing the highest level of customer service

    • This includes the ability to effectively support remote users via phone, email and desktop remote control software

    • Provide accurate, timely and creative solutions for, but not limited to, staff computer hardware, operating systems, software applications, networking, videoconferencing, printers, and voicemail

    • Provide technical support for VOIP phone systems


  • Maintains software updates and patches for desktops

  • Track incoming and outgoing asst inventory of hardware, software and peripherals

  • Image & configure new desktop, laptop, lab, and phone equipment for deployment to both in-house and field staff

  • Escalate any needed technical problems for individuals and groups in an efficient manner

  • Perform responsibilities according to the IS Department’s defined processes and procedures and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

  • Maintain documentation of activities completed and Track 100% of all customer contacts

  • Support enterprise security and anti-virus system

  • Review application logs

  • Document initial change requests and collect user requirements

  • Project responsibilities including desktop related upgrades and implementations, user onboarding, network printer setup, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting

Required Skills


  • Experience in performing PC setups, (Mac preferred), troubleshooting hardware and software problems and designing configurations for desktop computer systems in a corporate network environment

  • General hands-on knowledge of end user software applications, such as Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Windows and Apple Operating Systems

  • Working knowledge of network technologies, relevant software, hardware, and other equipment

  • A basic understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IP Networking and Wireless

  • 24/7 On-call support as needed

  • Any relevant technical certifications are a plus

Must-Haves


  • B.S. required

  • 3+ years experience in a tech support role

  • Strong customer services and problem-solving skills

Work Hours/Shift

This is a part time position that will work at least 20-25 hours per week
