Job Description:

ERM is seeking a Senior Process Safety Consultant to join our Performance & Assurance practice in Tampa, FL. In this role, you will work closely with other Consultants and Partners on PHA and PSM related projects.   • Assist with OSHA process safety management (PSM), EPA risk management plan (RMP), BSEE Safety and Environmental Management Systems (SEMS) and process hazard analysis (PHA) programs.

  • Develop programs to meet OSHA PSM Standards (i.e., 29 CFR 1910.119).

  • Conduct PSM compliance audits.

  • Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHA).

  • Conduct Mechanical Integrity (MI) audits and gap assessments.

  • Participate in safety workshops (i.e., HAZIDS, HAZOPS), including workshop preparation, scribe, and client reporting.

  • Develop key performance indicators for client programs.

  • Support, as needed, environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance, environmental management system, sustainability, due diligence transaction, environmental compliance programs, contingency plans, multi-media permits, and reports for air quality, hazardous waste, spill prevention, storm water, and wastewater.

  • Interact with ERM offices to generate proposals and coordinate projects.

  • Perform multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.


  • BS in chemical engineering or process safety, MS preferred; Minimum 3.0 GPA.

  • 7+ years of experience in process safety engineering and/or management, preferably at the plant or corporate levels or as a consultant in this field, preferably in O&G.

  • Experience with development of written PSM programs, Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), PSM/RMP auditing, Mechanical Integrity (MI) evaluations, and SEMS (preferred).

  • General understanding of PSM and RMP regulations.

  • Strong client relationship skills; established reputation within the O&G industry, preferred.

  • Excellent verbal, writing, meeting facilitation and computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Ability and willingness to travel.

  • Local candidates preferred.
