Purpose/Objective of the Role

The Manager, US Event Management Center of Excellence (EMCoE) Business Analytics and Reporting is responsible for the analysis and reporting of all consultant information including the design and development of metrics, reports and analyses to drive key business decisions utilizing all data elements and systems including (Consultant Link, Veeva Event Management, Cvent, ROW, IQVIA and Workfront).

Job Description:

Business Acumen:


  • Analyzing and assessing data collected related to Consultant Engagement as well as generate reports for identifying errors and inaccurate reporting, including Compliance concerns

  • Developing and implementation of data analytic solutions for internal stakeholders related to Consultant Engagements

  • Developing maintaining and providing reports to Consultant Engagement Director, Business Stakeholders, Senior Leadership and Compliance

  • Proven ability to synthesize and present complex data

  • Drives innovation in business analytic capabilities by delivering actionable information from Veeva and other related BMS data systems that impact Consultant Engagements

  • Identifies gaps in reporting data and provides solutions to capture analyze and provide needed information 

  • Conducts ongoing monitoring of data analytics and the development and execution of reports to address areas of risk; develops recommendations and communicates recommendations to stakeholders to mitigate such risks and communicates results

Customer Focus:


  • Assesses needs with internal customers and users to determine, recommend and design appropriate reporting format, content and delivery method

  • Works across matrix team with BMS IT, BIA and other functional departments on systems, projects and reports related to Veeva EM data

  • Critical connection to all of our stakeholders and knowledge and understanding of their business needs

Strategic Thinking and Planning:


  • Provides strategic guidance to define, develop and integrate a ECoE dashboards

  • Responsible for extraction, analysis and transformation of data that can be presented in a robust and innovative way to the Consultant Engagement Team, Business Stakeholders (US Commercial, R&D, WW Commercial, WW Medical, VAP), Suppliers and Senior Leadership

  • Ability provide strong prioritization skills, excellent statistical and critical thinking skills; ability to create custom software to properly present data to the team, business and stakeholders and monitor activity timely to minimize business disruption

Execution Excellence:


  • Support  all projects and deliver on required timelines

  • Ensures compliant adherence to all BMS and industry-related Guiding Principles and Policies

  • Escalates compliance issues and concerns to Legal and Compliance

  • Provides data, documentation and support for confidential Human Resources and Employee Relations (HR/ER) inquiries and investigations

  • Remains current with all North America laws and regulations related to transparency and disclosure, including Federal Physician Sunshine Payment Provisions, applicable U.S. state laws and be able to address questions related to Consultant Engagement data

List of Minimum Position Requirements/Competencies:


  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology or related discipline required;

  • 2 – 5 years’ experience with a focus on focus on data management, reporting and analytics

  • SQL/Oracle database inquiry skills preferred

  • Experience implementing Analytics solutions using Big Data and Cloud based solutions levering all phases of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and use of agile methodology

  • SAS, Spitfire and good understanding of data modeling and data warehousing concepts and advanced understanding of data analytics and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)

  • Expert in Microsoft Excel, Access and PowerPoint and SAP is required

  • Experience using and creating Dashboards in Tableau

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts and information with confidence including system, process, policy and industry related requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task, with precise attention to detail, accuracy, timeliness and follow-through

  • Keen ability to solve problems without supervision including root cause analysis, engaging the matrix team in solution options and driving optimum problem resolution

  • Demonstrated aptitude for understanding and translating system and process requirements to all stakeholders, compliance, legal and suppliers

  • Excellent organization skills with ability to manage multiple activities, projects and initiatives simultaneously

  • Solid business acumen, understanding of what are the key business drivers that will generate desired results

  • Excellent project management skills and understanding of Consultant Engagement landscape

  • Excellent influencing skills, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with key business partners, IT leadership teams, and external suppliers

  • Ability to clearly communicate data stories to variety of audiences; maintain a balanced and client-focused to drive delivery for our business partners

  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as excellent verbal, written communication & presentation skill
