The Quality Engineer Trainee evaluates the effectivity of established quality programs, procedures, methods, etc. on a planned schedule basis and makes corrections for improvements as required.
Metallurgical experience strongly desired; 1 to 2 years of experience working with metallurgy processes, functions, and testing. Candidates with experience in Materials Science background will be considered.
Needs to understand case depth analysis, coefficient of thermal expansion.
This function is responsible for the development and implementation of quality methods which are directed at the timely detection of non-conformances to assure early corrective action is taken.
Assists in establishing the training programs for inspection and manufacturing personnel, and participates in actual training as required.
Develops data sheets for the correction of information on inspection results. Develops First Article inspection requirements as required per each contract,
Evaluates data on results of inspections and makes recommendations for corrective measures.
Familiar with different measuring tools and methodologies.
Familiar with GD&T and interpreting engineering and customer drawings.
Assists in the audits of current quality procedures and methods on a regular schedule;
Visits suppliers’ facilities and performs initial and follow-up quality surveys assisting in solving problems as required.
Recommends the use, procurement and design of specific measuring tools and initiates new concepts, and designs as required.
Works with customer source inspection personnel on product inspection and handles routine customer surveys providing the necessary information and data. Initiates and maintain quality inspection procedures as required.
Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field.
1-2 years: Prior experience in the aerospace, material science, or engineering field is preferred.
SKILLS / CERTIFICATIONS:
Mechanical aptitude and mechanical skills required.
Electrical and Robotics experience preferred.
Experience in Materials Science, or Metallurgy Preferred.
