Job Title: Maintenance SupervisorBrief Description: The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible to oversee and support the daily activities of Maintenance Employees assigned to the PM Department. Schedule and oversee projects being done onsite by maintenance or outside contractors. Ensure PM work is planned and completed in a timely manner while minimizing impact to the operations of the plant. Should be self-motivated with high regard for safety and integrity.Position Responsibilities:* Schedule PM duties* Work with the operations, maintenance, and with management, to track, trend, report and take effective corrective actions regarding equipment failures.* Help develop and maintain the mechanical integrity program.* Supervise 8-12 technicians assigned to PM and project duties.* Assist with work plan development as necessary.* Participate in meetings and provide suggestions for equipment reliability improvements.* Ensure manufacturer's procedures are followed and recommended materials are used for maintenance activities.* Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.* Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.* Implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.* Responsible that all emission control systems are working properly, and that all federal, state, and local documentation are being followed.* Implements training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.* Confers with management and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.* Confers with management to resolve any personnel issues.* Assists in controlling costs.* Responsible to manage all employees assigned to his/her area of responsibility. This includes requiring people to check out, clean, inspect and report any problems with the equipment on a routine basis.* Monitors employee training, while suggesting needed changes to workers, and work procedures as needed.* Involved in Lean initiative that affect production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.* Responsible for plant personnel safety, and compliance with company policy. Conducting disciplinary actions as needed.* Work closely with contractors of various disciplines as well as on-site maintenance personnel to achieve successful projects.Experience/Requirements:* An Associate's degree in a technical discipline (Mechanical or Electrical) or 4 years minimum maintenance experience.* High school diploma or equivalent.* Demonstrated Interpersonal Skills (communication, coaching, setting expectations, providing feedback).* Proficient in computer software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project Management, etc.* Advanced Problem Solving Skills.* Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks at once.* Preferred: Bachelor's degree or 4+ years equivalent job experienceSteel Dynamics Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
