If you are a Technical Writer professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Eden Prairie, MN location, you will work with local and remote teams of software developers to provide customer-facing product documentation for hardware and/or software products AS A TECHNICAL WRITER, YOU WILL: 


  • Create user assistance with our business unit's XML/DITA system

  • Work with project writers in developing the business unit's documentation deliverables

  • Seek clarification and details as needed on any requirements, and work in an Agile development framework  

  • Apply and maintain internal style guides and standards for user assistance, and ensure adherence to these standards

WHO YOU ARE:You balance planning with actions. You prepare content for communication that is impactful. You show personal commitment and take action to continuously improve. You take time to ask questions, define the problem and you make learning a priority and a goal.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, English or related
  • 2+ years of experience in technical documentation 
  • Experience in multi-channel publication and XML/DITA publishing tools
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

  • 4+ years of experience in technical documentation 
  • Experience in a large software development team environment 
  • Process automation industry experience
