Primarily responsible for managing a team of professionals dedicated to the research, development, upgrading, and implementation of information management tools, technologies, and best practices across a variety of disciplines, including Enterprise Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence. Responsible for ensuring successful implementation of the data strategy for the enterprise. Oversees all data management and integration (DM&I) initiatives across the enterprise for the IT organization. Effectively manage team members and coordinate with other business units in the identification and resolution of a wide array of business barriers and issues. Manage the selection, maintenance and evaluation of new and existing tools, technologies, and practices to determine the best fit for the organization, currently and strategically. Exercise broad discretion and judgment in the acquisition of information and dissemination of the same. Make final decision on team recommendations, in association with the business stakeholders. Manages budget and resource allocations for multiple simultaneous projects.
Create a vision, strategy and planning for data management that furthers enterprise objectives.
Effectively communicate the vision and strategy to the IT leaders, business managers and corporate leaders.
Build relationships with external experts and other advanced IT organizations to maintain knowledge of technology advancements and trends.
Communicate business goals to the Data Services team.
Create business cases for Data Services initiatives.
Oversee the implementation of initiatives and allocate staff and resources for them.
Lead, manage, develop, motivate, mentor, and evaluate the Data Services team.
Achieve business goals outlined in the business case for data initiatives.
Coordinate multiple projects running concurrently and keep to project schedules and budgets.
Effectively staff projects and manage cross-organizational teams.
Use metrics relevant to each initiative, such as data warehouse performance, to measure success.
Work closely with data analytics and data science teams to ensure business success.
Identify high value opportunities for information usage and communicate their value effectively.
Safeguard data as an asset, including responsible for audit responses related to Data Services.
Resolve issues working with all levels of the organization, creatively problem-solve, initiate crisis control, and develop contingency plans.
Proactively conduct platform upgrade and architecture assessments of solutions to meet escalating business requirements.
Develop and maintain relevant policies and procedures for effectively managing data services for the enterprise.
Work in collaboration with Corporate Procurement to manage vendor relationships and develop strategic partnerships.
Participate in development of annual departmental budget, monitor budget and identify budget discrepancies.
Responsibility for balancing workload to optimize the effectiveness of the department.
Directly supervises exempt and non-exempt staff in accordance with company policies and applicable Federal and State Laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to effectively interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; supporting and encouraging the engagement process.

EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in information services or related field. Combinations of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Continuous learning, as defined by the Company's learning philosophy, is required. Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.
Ten years' experience in an information technology environment with demonstrated technical experience and progressive responsibility that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities. Three years leadership experience in information technology preferred. Proven track record of driving results and desired outcomes required. Ability to lead teams effectively a must. Basic understanding of insurance required. Previous workers' compensation experience preferred. Bilingual skills preferred.
