Global Communities is seeking a Grants, Contracts & Finance Associate at its headquarters in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. The Grants, Contracts and Finance Associate provides administrative support on a 50/50 basis to both the Grants & Contracts and Finance teams.

Responsibilities

FINANCE
  • Assist in reviewing and reconciling sub-award monitoring reports received from the field and update appropriate systems.
  • Reconcile Headquarters bank accounts to include matching monthly bank statement & GL transactions, clear paid checks, list outstanding items, finalize reconciliation by the 20th of the following month, and file.
  • Upload monthly reports from field offices into Headquarters GL and review them for accuracy.
  • Assist in reconciling quarterly general ledger schedules.
  • Assist in maintaining the department's Finance SharePoint site, including updating document templates and adding resource materials.
  • Undertake all other duties and projects as may be assigned from time to time.


GRANTS AND CONTRACTS
  • Provide support to staff, which may include setting up or attending meetings, drafting or editing documents, and conducting research.
  • Assist in maintaining the Grants and Contracts SharePoint site, including updating document templates and adding resource materials.
  • Generate reports and maintain trackers as directed.
  • Undertake all other duties and projects as may be assigned from time to time.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated research and analytical skills.
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written. Abilities in Spanish and other languages including Arabic and French preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Organized, accurate and detail oriented.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and ability to sit at a computer and operate a keyboard.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one year work experience required.
  • Volunteer, fellowship or relevant internship considered experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Must have U.S. work authorization.
