The POG business group also includes Det-Tronics' affiliates in the UK and France, as well as the POG division of Autronica Fire and Security AS (, a manufacturer and supplier of fire and gas safety solutions in Stavanger, Norway, and Carrier affiliate within the Fire & Security Products unit.General ResponsibilitiesDet-Tronics seeks to hire an experienced, motivated, customer-focused attorney to support all legal needs for our fast-paced and dynamic POG businesses. This role will support POG operations globally, including in North America, the UK, and France, as well as sales and service teams around the world. The attorney hired for this role will support the POG sales organizations in drafting, negotiating and reviewing contracts for the sale of POG goods and services in large-scale, complex infrastructure and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects globally, will develop and draft contract templates to support new or key verticals or segments, will advise and train internal personnel on key legal and ethical matters, will be a contributing member of the Det-Tronics management team, and will provide hands-on counsel to management on a broad range of other issues to ensure that legal risks are anticipated and addressed timely and effectively. The preferred locations for this role are Bloomington, Minnesota and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.Key ResponsibilitiesThis role reports to the Industrial Fire Products Legal Director. The position's key job responsibilities include:* Negotiate, review, and draft complex commercial contracts for the sale of goods and services, including in large Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) transactions and sales to the U.S. government* Develop and draft contract templates to support new or key verticals or segments* Advise on applicable laws, regulations, and company policies in a global environment to ensure compliance* Provide legal counsel on a broad range of issues, including: anticorruption laws and policies, antitrust/competition laws, channel management, claims, disputes, regulatory and trade compliance, marketing and communications, strategies, and product safety* Review, draft, and negotiate vendor, supplier and service provider contracts* Manage litigation, claims, government inquiries, and outside counsel* Monitor product safety programs and ensure compliance with corporate policies* Create, implement, and/or support risk management, compliance controls, and legal policies and procedures, as needed, including with training* Review marketing materials, program, and communications* Manage international trade compliance professionals* Ensure that corporate governance requirements are met* Manage special projects, such as business development, M&A activity, etc., as needed* Manage due diligence requirements for sales representatives and support internal compliance program* Some travel requiredKey Qualifications* J.D. from accredited law school and active license to practice law in any state in the United States* 6+ years of attorney experience preferred* Prior experience negotiating, drafting, and reviewing complex commercial agreements, including transactions involving EPCs and flow-downs, strongly preferred* Prior in-house experience in international manufacturing environment preferred* Sound legal and business judgment* Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills* Ability to work independently and collaboratively with little day-to-day instruction on complex, global legal issues* Ability to prioritize multiple business needs/legal tasks, including strategic initiatives and projects, in addition to day-to-day work* Willingness to embrace learning/self-starting attitude to support fast-paced global business needs* Commitment to business-oriented, pragmatic approach to challenges* Strong dedication to ethics* Enthusiasm and positive attitude* Experience managing through change* Basic proficiency with Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint* Fluency in EnglishCompensation* Salary and bonus opportunity commensurate with experience* Competitive benefitsCarrier is An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
