Job Description:

dataVoice, part of the Harris group, is searching for an energetic Infrastructure Specialist to join the team. As the infrastructure specialist, you will be responsible for deploying and maintaining physical servers, managing virtual server environments, maintaining disaster recovery mechanisms, guarding overall system security, and executing smaller networking tasks. You will monitor system performance and security, participate in developing plans for future deployments, repair failures as they occur and keep existing systems patched.

This is a remote opportunity within Texas, that will report to the Director of Operations.

What you will be doing:


  • Monitor, identify problems trouble-shoot, maintain, update and continue documentation of an existing environment of approximately 50 servers (Ubuntu Server and Windows Server) including network infrastructure, firewalls and disaster recovery mechanisms.

  • Play a leadership role in assessing plans to transition to a cloud-based environment and other infrastructure related projects.

  • Act as a technical point of escalation for customer support issues related to operating systems, network communication and system performance.

  • Manage a small PCI environment and work with consultants to maintain documentation and policies.

  • Deploy and manage monitoring tools (currently based on Nagios/Icinga), configuration management tools (currently based on Puppet) and DNS infrastructure (currently based on Bind9) along with SSL certificates.

What we are looking for:


  • 3+ years of experience deploying and managing Linux systems in a corporate production environment

  • Familiarity with the OpenSSH suite of tools

  • Experience scripting in Bash
