POSITION SUMMARY:

The Disaster Recovery Specialist will serve to lead the company by developing and leading the strategy, planning, implementation, execution, testing, and maintenance for all aspects of Epiq’s Disaster Recovery (DR) processes. The Disaster Recovery Specialist will work closely with Information Technology leadership, business leaders, and functional teams to ensure that DR capabilities will meet the Recovery Time and Recovery Point objectives as defined by Business Impact Analyses. The program will address all aspects of a DR program, from ensuring back-up and off-site storage strategies adequately protect the company to implementation of leading-edge capabilities such as data replication and redundant failover.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Work with leadership team to develop and implement a comprehensive IT Disaster Recovery strategy and program. Maintain disaster recovery program strategy (forward looking roadmap) aligning services and portfolio components to the strategy.

  • Create and maintain effective relationships with business & technology stakeholders including architects, development managers, program/project managers, QA, etc.

  • Lead change management operations for integration of DR goals through the systems development lifecycle. Provide ongoing DR awareness communication and training to reinforce familiarity with DR design and operational procedures, roles and responsibilities and plan procedures.

  • Conduct DR operational review meetings with delivery and business key stakeholders.

  • Manage scope, identify and track metrics, benchmarks, milestones and budget across program and projects to ensure completion of program/project goals.

  • Identify, track, prioritize and drive resolution of program level issues, leveraging lessons learned from prior experience and work to address and mitigate systemic issues.

  • Coordinate resources required to maintain an operational DR program, with plans developed and tested for the restoration of mission-critical business applications within specified timeframes.

  • Communicate timely and accurate status to appropriate levels and stake holders. This includes development and delivery of status reports on program operations and health, financial status, and presentations, as required, for the numerous stakeholder groups across the enterprise.

  • Conduct/participate in risk/threat vulnerability studies and impact assessments. Identify opportunities for and lead deep dives on key initiatives through program and project reviews.

  • Collaborate with business units and development teams to identify and plan mitigation efforts, business continuity recovery strategies and necessary resources to execute continuity procedures. Ensure that resources, dependencies, risks and constraints are aggressively managed in a timely fashion.

  • Ensure that technology platforms have appropriate back-up and off-site storage strategies in place to support program goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in information security, computer science or other related field (work experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis).

  • 10 or more years of experience required in related field (Information Systems)

  • 5 or more years leading a Disaster Recovery function within a SaaS provider

  • Significant experience in a Project Management/Program Management role leading enterprise-wide initiatives. Demonstrated experience in planning and executing complex projects with large budgets involving multiple organizations, delivering status and presentations to senior management and above levels is required.

  • Knowledge of IT systems and related Enterprise Applications, including CRM, Sales, and Accounting systems.

  • Strong analytical skills and be capable of retrieving, analyzing and synthesizing data in a meaningful way.

  • Industry certifications: CBP, CDRP, MBCP or similar designation

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:


  • 3 or more years of experience in a management role or leading cross functional projects preferred

  • Project Management Certifications or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt

  • Familiarity with Information Security Frameworks such as ISO-27001/2 and the NIST Cyber Security Framework (CSF).

  • Familiarity with attestation standards such as SOC 1 / SOC2, Trust Service Principles, and Attestation Standard AT-101.

  • Familiarity with ISO 22301 Business Continuity Standard

  • Prior experience in disaster recovery role. Demonstrated experience in development of strategies, plans, procedures, risk assessment, business impact analysis using industry-recognized frameworks in a complex multi-systems environment across multiple data centers.

  • Knowledge of ServiceNow and IT Asset Management tools

  • Prior experience working with a Disaster Recovery tool suite.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts, policies, and procedures to technical and non-technical audiences with a varying range of expertise, interests and backgrounds.

  • High degree of collaboration and team-orientation including the ability to mentor less-experienced team members. Consultative/client focus.

  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects against deadlines in a complex, fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work individually with minimal supervision as well as within a global team environment.

  • Advanced skills in Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, and SharePoint
