This role is a liaison that coordinates, standardizes, integrates and aligns these engineering based systems with interconnected support functions such as IT including vendors and typical stakeholders and users such as Industrial Engineering (IE), Warehouse / Distribution Centers Operations (DC), HR (DC), Supply Chain/Logistics Operations (SC) and Planning teams. Responsible for ensuring that business requirements are met for the Engineering based productivity systems such as WMS, LMS, Incentive Pay and related systems and subsystems (E.g. Kronos) through proper functional, standardized and waste-loss free utilization, training, deploying, connectivity, testing, modeling, performance tracking/reporting, updating/enhancing across the Warehouse/Distribution Center network and related stakeholders.
Provide support to the IE team in the linkages between Engineering based systems and engineering productivity A3's projects under development/implementation across the HBi distribution network.
Provide critical industrial engineering support for distribution improvement A3 projects assigned by Distribution IE Manager/Director throughout the network. Projects will primarily be of a continuous improvement nature.
Responsible to ensure that critical Engineering based productivity systems such as Warehouse Management System (WMS), Labor Management System (LMS), Incentive Pay System and related systems and subsystems (e.g. Kronos)
are being properly operated in their full capabilities/capacities. These systems must deliver accurate and timely information to support daily operational labor productivity/efficiency performance tracking/reporting, daily efficiency improvement actions, work standards training plans for associates, trainers, supervisors, engineers, ops leaders industrial engineering standards deployment and Industrial Engineering A3's projects to improve performance efficiency in picking, stocking, slotting/sizing, warehousing and packaging/value added process/services and value stream optimization (customer service) incentive pay calculations across the HBi Warehouse/Distribution Center operations network in the US.
The Sr Systems Engineer is the key liaison between Engineering based productivity systems such as Warehouse Management System (WMS), Labor Management System (LMS), Incentive Pay Systems, and related systems and subsystems (e.g. Kronos), typical stakeholders and users such as Industrial Engineering (IE), Warehouse/Distribution Centers Operations & HR (DC), Supply Chain/Logistics Operations (SC) and Information Technology technical Warehouse/DC Systems team (IT) and required IT vendors
Responsible for ensuring that requirements from Business leadership, Distribution Engineering Manager/Director, Warehouse/distribution leadership/operations, HR, Supply Chain, Planning and IE teams are met through proper functional, standardized and waste-loss free utilization, training, deploying, connectivity, testing, operation, performance modeling, tracking, reporting, updating/enhancing and improvement of WMS, LMS, Incentive Pay Systems and related systems and subsystems across network.
Provide critical industrial engineering support for distribution improvement projects assigned by Distribution IE Manager/Director throughout the network. Projects will primarily be of a continuous improvement nature. This role will work with a broad group that ranges from: IT, DC, Planning, SC, associates, industrial engineers, supervisors, maintenance, HR, trainers, operations and DC facility managers/leadership, vendors, and other professional groups within/outside HBI.
Education & Experience
BS or equivalent in Industrial Engineering
2 - 4 Years' experience in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Labor Management Systems (LMS, Manhattan Associates)
2 - 4 Years' experience in Warehouse/Distribution Operations and Industrial Engineering practices particularly developing and implementing labor standards/rates by using traditional IE time and motion studies
2 - 4 Years' experience in leading projects in Warehouses/DC particularly improvements in product/labor flows (e.g. receiving, slotting/sizing, warehousing, packaging/value added process/services, stocking, picking, shipping), space utilization, labor productivity/efficiency, cost and delivery to mention some
2 - 4 Years' experience or familiar in using Kronos systems
Experience in implementing Labor Incentive Pay Systems
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Database, Access, Project) and AutoCAD
Knowledgeable in Citrix, desirable
Lean (VSM), Six Sigma experience, highly desirable
English-Spanish bilingual, desirable
Ability to manage, drive and accept accountability for project progress and quality, and achieve stated goals
Detail oriented, excellent analytical skills, and demonstrated ability to perform analyses and identify solutions to resolve specific distribution and logistics needs.
