Responsible for repairs of all outside plant, headend/hub-site and supporting network elements used to supply Telephone, cable TV and High-Speed Data services. Performs quality control assessment of all plant types when needed and oversees and manages work to ensure troubles, service orders and plant/headend/hub-site issues are resolved in a timely manner. Maintain the headend/hub-site to Hargray standards to deliver all levels of products, FTTH, Video, Voice and Data services.
Performs quality control assessment of all outside plant maintenance and repair services which includes splice, maintain and repair copper, coaxial and fiber cables from Central Office or Head End to the de-mark box located at the customer premises.
Directs the repair of outside plant that carries voice, video and internet services in a hands-on manor
Assists in testing of fiber, coaxial and copper cables; uses various fault locating equipment to isolate source of trouble or complaint, including forward and reverse testing of HFC plant
Reads and interprets staking sheets and cable schematics to splice newly installed cable in pedestals
Ensure that any locate contractors that are engage by the company to locate our plant marks all of our underground equipment to ensure that it is not damaged by other utilities, companies or persons.
Performs skills assessment of all Cable Maintenance Technicians and recommends training as required
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems
Initiates and directs plans to motivate workers to achieve goals, strive for maximum efficiency and to go beyond what is expected
Recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as hiring, promoting, transferring, discharging, disciplinary measures, pay increases, etc.
Inspects department vehicles to insure they are kept in a clean, orderly, well-stocked fashion. Completes necessary paperwork for maintenance or repairs to vehicle
Provides training and assistance for new employees; participates in cross training
Addresses employee and customer complaints, issues and concerns immediately; refers issues to another member of management team when required.
Communicates with other departments to ensure trouble and service orders are worked in a timely manner
Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure effective operation of the department and the Company
Ensures all equipment is properly alarmed, monitored and remotely accessible.
Prepares and delivers operations presentations as necessary.
Recommends and approves budget, expenditures, and appropriations for the department.

7 years experience in the HFC industry installing and repairing video delivery system and set top box infrastructure.
Must be able to load, configure and test all software and network elements necessary for the proper operation of an HFC plant and headend.
In-depth knowledge of IP Networking principles.
Working knowledge of AC/DC theory as it applies to telecommunications.
Must have working knowledge in the MS Office suite of products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
