Maintenance Supervisor Job Summary:

A poultry facility Maintenance Supervisor is primarily responsible for achieving immediate and short-term maintenance objectives as provided by management. In addition, the supervisor will direct daily work tasks and supervise Maintenance Technicians ensuring that operational objectives are met. 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Mentor and motivate employees, providing training and professional development optimizing performance and personal growth.

  • Ensure compliance with regulations relating to safety, security, GMP, sanitation, discipline, etc.

  • Discipline and report breaches in policy to appropriate management.

  • Assign and ensure completion of daily work orders for Maintenance Technicians.

  • Perform lock out/tag out certifications on all equipment.

  • Communicate performance standards with team members, recognizing and rewarding individual and team accomplishments and counseling performance problems.

  • Facilitate employee meetings, including employee training.

  • Ensure appropriate documentation is completed and maintained.

  • Communicate and ensure compliance with company, quality and HACCP standards and procedures.

  • Perform all required safety checks.

  • All other duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, with college degree and/or technical certification preferred.

  • One (1) to three (3) years’ supervisory experience, preferrably within a manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, with general Spanish communication skills prefered. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient computer and analytical skills.

  • Self-motivated and detail oriented.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

  • Ability to work weekends as needed.

Physical/Environmental Factors:


  • Cold, damp, wet environment with temperatures ranging from 40 to 90 degrees.

  • Stand/walk 100% of work day.

  • Exposure to noise levels greater than 85 decibels.

  • Bend, stoop, and lift various weights as needed.

  • Climb stairs, frequently stoop, kneel, crawl and bend.

  • Exposure to strong, raw and foul odors.

  • Bending, twisting, stacking, pushing and standing for long periods of time.

  • Manual dexterity of hands and wrists.
