The USPS Planning Specialist will support DHL eCommerce Operations and Postal Integration team in overseeing all USPS touch points. This role will focus on all aspects of DHL eCommerce Solutions (DeCS) Postal Delivery Network transportation performance. In addition, it will support Quality & Loss Prevention investigations with transportation documentation.

  • Develop strong working relationships with vendors and cross-functional teams to further enhance performance, solicit feedback on internal and vendor issues, and streamline processes.
  • Work with DeCS Distribution Centers and vendors to ensure departures and deliveries are on time.
  • Support resolving classification, compliance, and manifesting, fine issues with other postal or transportation team members.
  • Work with destination Post Offices to negotiate entry times, special preparations, sortation, alternative routings, mail identification, and special security arrangements.
  • Work with postal team and management to review Oracle Transportation Reporting (OTM) and improve service.
  • Maintain Transportation Dispatch Schedules for all DHLeC Distribution Centers along with all Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) data.
  • Support Quality and Loss Prevention investigations by providing requested transportation related documentation including but not limited to Bills of Lading and Proof of Delivery.
  • Partner with the Regional Transportation Managers to develop alternate postal entry opportunities. Support process improvement initiatives including documentation and training.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Internal DeCS
  • Provide feedback regarding DeCS quality issues (labeling, sort/route accuracy, tagging accuracy).
  • Provide Postal Expertise to Operations and Sales teams.
  • Communicate optimal preparation requirements to operations.

  • Provide feedback and reports regarding on time arrivals, placarding and load plans.
  • Provide guidance to entry point changes and exceptions
  • Provide recommendations in improving end to end performance.
  • Service analyzing and service improvements (performance, Distribution Center dispatches, USPS deliveries).
  • Provide guidance to entry point changes and exceptions

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or a combination of education and experience
  • 2-3 years of industry related experience

  • Relationship management and performance management skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to understand and assist in design of operational processes.
  • Strong Problem Solving Skills
  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, excel, PowerPoint).

  • Physical demands are consistent with a professional office setting.
  • Regular sitting at work station for 75-100% of the work shift.
