Position Summary:
The Corporate Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting various communications strategies to amplify the Seattle Genetics story and advance the company's corporate reputation. This individual must have exceptional oral and written skills, be a strategic thinker with a meticulous attention to detail, work well under pressure and meet deadlines. This individual must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment. To ensure success, this individual in this position should be innovative, organized, and self-motivated with a keen interest in driving strategic messages to key external and internal audiences. In this role, this individual will primarily support the development of corporate branding projects to enhance Seattle Genetics' ability to effectively tell its story to stakeholders. The Corporate Communications Specialist also will help to manage the company's Community Relations and Charitable Giving efforts and support the execution of communications tactics aligned to corporate strategic priorities. To ensure external corporate communications are seamless with internal communications, the Corporate Communications Specialist will be involved with internal communications efforts, specifically assisting with employee communications as needed.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with key internal stakeholders to understand and deliver creative solutions that tell the Seattle Genetics story externally and internally through print, digital, web, videos, photography
  • Adheres to and enforces the use of corporate brand standards & style guidelines to ensure quality and uniformity across all channels
  • Manages updates to corporate web site(s) to ensure compliance with marketed brands, positioning, key corporate messages, and regulatory requirements
  • Serves as web administrator to review and manage incoming requests
  • Manages creation and updating of corporate materials, manages inventory of corporate materials, seeks end-user feedback to ensure materials are utilized and effective
  • Supports community relations and corporate giving efforts on behalf of the company; creates materials and content to showcase our community efforts externally
  • Ensures high quality and timely results for all communications
  • Retains, manages, and ensures cost-effective use of relevant outside vendors
  • Relies on past best practices and procedures as well as introduce new approaches based on experience and input from others
Basic Qualifications:
  • Accredited Bachelor's degree preferably in Communications, English, Journalism or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of communications-related experience building and developing content
  • Minimum of 2 years working in a corporate environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong writing skills and content development
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Self-starter, able to work well as a member of a team, but also work independently with limited oversight
  • The ability to create effective relationships, influence, and collaborate internally and externally at all organizational levels
  • Microsoft® SharePoint and Adobe Photoshop®
  • The ability to see multiple perspectives and come up with creative approaches and effectively solutions
  • Interest/knowledge in graphic design and the interplay between user interfaces & experience, copywriting & content strategy
  • Ability to work independently and work successfully in a team environment
  • Organized and able to multitask
  • Interested in learning new skills and knowledge
  • Innovative and comes up with a lot of new and unique ideas
